PDF is a widely used standard document format for distributing any documents. EPUB is an electronic book (e-book) format which is widely used. The writer is an awesome and free document software it comes with the in-built ability to export any document as PDF or EPUB with extensive configurable options.

Steps to Save As PDF
- Open the Writer document which you want to convert to PDF.
- From the file menu, click Export As PDF. You may want to choose export options for PDF. Finally, click export. If you click Export Directly as PDF, then PDF will be saved with default options.
- Provide the path where you want to export and save.
Your Writer document is now saved as a PDF in the target path.
Steps to Save as EPUB
- Open the Writer document which you want to convert to EPUB.
- From the file menu, click Export As EPUB. You may want to choose export options for EPUB. Finally, click export. If you click Export Directly as EPUB, then EPUB will be saved with default options.
- Provide the path where you want to export and save.
Your Writer document is now saved as EPUB in the target path.
For Calc, Impress and others
The above method also works in spreadsheet and presentation programs. All you need to select is the same option in the menu. For the Spreadsheet, you need to select the rows/columns/ranges to export as PDF. And for presentations, you need to select which slides you want to convert to pdf.
